From the comfort of your own couch, the beach, or your camper van.
If you’re struggling with understanding who you are in this world or where you belong, you are not the only one. Being a daughter of immigrants may leave you feeling excluded and struggling with your identity. Culture clash is real. Maybe you don’t feel at home in your own country because you are treated differently. Or maybe you struggle with the high expectations of immigrant parents. All of this can take a toll on your mental health and I’m here to help with that.
What do I offer?
I offer personalized counselling sessions via secure video calls around the following topics:
-Helping women of color who have experienced trauma process their experiences, heal, and find the strength they are looking for.
-Treating the symptoms of depression or anxiety by teaching women of color how to manage these conditions and not let them control their lives.
-Assisting with adjustment of a new country for expats, adult children of immigrants, or Third Culture Kids (TCKs) who are struggling with the challenges of culture shock.
-Empowering minority women who are the first professionals or entrepreneurs in the family and are faced with difficulties during this transition.
-Increasing women’s self esteem and helping them gain a sense of fulfilment in life.
-Exploring behavioral patterns and communication difficulties with the goal of developing healthy relationships and setting boundaries with partners and family members.
-Building a toolbox of healthy coping skills individually tailored to each client to help ease stress.
-Identifying cultural and family expectations and comparing them with each client’s individual goals and values.
-Providing guidance to women who would like to explore their multiracial/multicultural identities and what that means for them.
I am inclusive and welcoming to people of all ethnicities, nationalities, abilities, religions, political parties, sexual orientations, genders, and ages. You don’t have to suffer in silence or struggle alone. I want to help you find your inner power so that you can rise up when life throws you challenges.
“Therapy is not for those who are weak, it is for those who are brave enough to seek help.”

Frequently Asked Questions
What is your background?
I have a master’s in social work degree from Arizona State University. I am American and grew up in Chicago but most recently lived in Phoenix prior to moving to Australia two years ago. My heritage is Mexican which is why I have native fluency in English and Spanish. I have worked in social services for many years with diverse populations ranging from homeless students, immigrants, unaccompanied migrant children, children in foster care, domestic violence victims, families, international students, individuals with disabilities, and expats. Most recently prior to opening my own private practice, I worked as a therapist for immigrants and helped them adjust to the daily struggles of arriving in a new country, process past trauma, and work on inner healing.
How does online counseling work?
You can make an appointment on this website and then we will have a video call via Zoom, a HIPAA compliant and secure platform. If you are not comfortable with video, there is an option within Zoom to just do a voice call.
What hours are you available?
As a digital nomad working with clients in different time zones, I am flexible with my hours. You can shoot me a message and let me know what time zone you are in at the time and we can figure out the best time to chat. You can also book an appointment online directly. However, if you don’t see the time slot you want, feel free to send me a message and I may be able to work with you.
What are your prices?
I offer a free 20 minute consultation to allow us to get to know each other and see if it will be a good fit. Research has shown that the quality of the relationship between client and therapist is one of the most important variables in predicting a positive outcome of therapy, so I want to make sure you are comfortable with me in our first virtual meeting. After that each 50 minute session is $155AUD. I also offer a four session package for $600AUD for committed clients who want to save some money by purchasing a package.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy is of great benefit to everyone in my opinion, regardless if there are presenting problems or not. Therapists are trained to listen without bias or judgement. We are not here to tell you what to do, but to help you process your choices and make a decision you are comfortable with. Therapy can help you learn about yourself and grow as a person. However, for those with presenting problems, it can be extremely beneficial to speak with a mental health professional. Do you feel sad or depressed? Is it hard to get out of bed most days or do simple tasks? If you struggle with feelings of emptiness or a lack of purpose, it may be time to talk to a therapist. If you often feel anxious or even have panic attacks it is best to start therapy. Perhaps you recently lost a loved one, are experiencing grief after a heartbreak, or have lost the job that gave you purpose. Life transitions can be difficult but they are made easier with the help of a mental health professional to guide you through the darkness. If you have experienced a trauma recently or in the past, it is never a bad time to talk to a therapist about it to begin the healing process. Please note that online counseling can not provide adequate support in all cases. Some problems, particularly acute psychological crises, require a personal and long-term contact. Please refer to psychotherapists in your home town in those cases.
